😻 So much love... thank you everyone!

Good morning friends, hope you're cozied up with some coffee, tea, hot cocoa, or warm morning beverage of your choice because brrrrrrrrr it's cold outside! ❄️ I've got a hot latte warming my hands, but really it's all the love we've received from the community and our first pet patients that is warming our hearts over here at the clinic. Here's a sweet review we got from our very first pet patient, the very handsome Rayn-bo:

Half-way through our first week of taking appointments and Urgent Care, and it feels so good to be OPEN and taking care of your pets. If you're looking to establish care, please give us a call at 206-656-4242 or request an appointment online here. AND we still have some DNA swabs left to be claimed - if you haven't claimed yours yet, it's not too late - we have a handful left, all you have to do is call in and set up a DNA swab appointment OR establish care with us and schedule your pet's first wellness exam!

NOTE: the DNA swab appointment is complementary and for swabbing only, but if you want to establish care and set up a Primary Care appointment, we can do the swab at that time as well. Just let us know!

Speaking of Urgent Care, I'd like to introduce you our amazing Urgent Care doctor, Dr. Heather Newton.

Dr. Newton worked as an Emergency Veterinarian for seven years prior to joining Island Animal Hospital as an Urgent Care veterinarian. She knew she wanted to be a veterinarian from a young age, due to her love of science and helping animals in need. Dr. Newton enjoys treating sick pets in need of emergent care, especially acute gastrointestinal disease like HGE, Addisonian crises, anaphylactic shock, congestive heart failure, and emergency surgeries like GDV and foreign body removal. Outside of work, Dr. Newton loves getting outside, especially long distance backpacking and hiking. She lives in West Seattle with her husband and two dogs, Leo the cutest mutt, and Trice the Doberman.

You can request a same-day Urgent Care appointment with Dr. Newton by calling 206-656-4242 or request an appointment online here.

Looking forward to meeting more of you and your pets! Feel free to stop by and say hello, we're a big fan of happy visits around here. AND don't forget Santa Paws will be available from 2-5pm tomorrow, 12-22, for photos and fun for the whole family!
