That's right, Primary Care and Urgent Care appointments begin December 19! We are now scheduling appointments 🥳 Call 206-656-4242 or request an appointment online here. AND we still have some DNA swabs left to be claimed - if you haven't claimed yours yet, it's not too late - limited to the first 100 who call in and set up a DNA swab appointment OR establish care with us and schedule their first wellness exam!

​NOTE: the DNA swab appointment is complementary and for swabbing only, but if you want to establish care and set up a Primary Care appointment, we can do the swab at that time as well. Just let us know!

Today, I'd also like to introduce you to another one our talented veterinarians here at Island Animal Hospital, Dr. Alyssa Faltin.

Dr. Faltin was born in New York, but grew up in a small beach town in Florida. She completed her bachelor's degree in animal sciences and a graduate certificate in veterinary forensic medicine at the University of Florida. After a trip to Europe with a friend she discovered a passion for travel and decided to move abroad for her veterinary degree. She graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in London, England after four years of adventures and traveling with her dog, Mason, who moved with her from Florida. One of her favorite memories is hiking up Ben Lomond in Scotland together. Washington was an easy transition back to the states because of friends in the PNW and its' similarities to Scotland.

She enjoys small animal general practice and urgent care, but does miss farm medicine in the UK. Ask her about her time lambing in Northern Ireland! Other interests in veterinary medicine include ophthalmology, surgery, oncology, and preventative care medicine.

When she isn’t working at the hospital she enjoys spending time with her husband, who she met while on a trip to Ireland. They enjoy being outdoors with Mason, hiking, going to concerts, and traveling together.
